“Many false prophets will rise up and lead multitudes astray; and because of the prevalent disregard of God’s law, the love of the great majority will grow cold; but those who stand firm to the End shall be saved.” –Matthew 24:11-13 (WEY)
At the time of this writing, many people in America are highly agitated as a result of the recent election process. The person they felt should have been the next President of the United States (POTUS), won the popular vote, but not the electoral vote.
The person who won the electoral vote campaigned in a manner that resonated with voters who desired a leader that would reverse the perceived notion that their government was moving away from the Democratic Republic foundation the nation was founded upon, and was instead moving toward a form of ‘Inverted Totalitarianism‘ (a form of Socialism).
Therefore, since many young Americans in the United States of America (USA) have not been taught and/or understand the difference between a Democracy and a Democratic Republic (and/or they simply do not care even if they do know the difference), they have taken to the streets to “act-out” in an immature and sometimes criminal manner; in protest of the result of the aforementioned recent election.
The ignorance and misinformation is propagated via the very means I am presenting this editorial article to you — Social Media. Here in the early decades of the 21st century, social media has become the main source of information and propaganda — on a global scale. I firmly believe that our technology has become the most powerful weapon devised and employed.
Prior to our modern technology, battles and wars were fought to gain control over people and their resources. Ideologies were thrust (forced) upon those who were overpowered and conquered. Many lives have been lost over these ideological wars, as they were mostly physical battles of might. Today, these battles are more about conquering people’s minds and converting them trough philosophical deceit. Granted, there are those who still prefer physical warfare over psychological warfare; and then there are those who employ both methodologies. But over all, the battle is (and in all truth, always has been) a spiritual battle between the forces of good and evil; darkness and light. Hence, the ever growing fascination with things of and tales regarding, the supernatural.
In all truth, this is nothing new, but it does seem to be coming to a head.
“All the world is a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.” –William Shakespeare
Many people are fascinated not only with the supernatural, but also with how “the world” (life as we know it today) might come to an end. Those two topics combined are often referred to as eschatology.
ESCHATOLOGY is generally defined as;
1: a branch of theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or of humankind
2: a belief concerning death, the end of the world, or the ultimate destiny of humankind; specifically : any of various Christian doctrines concerning the Second Coming, the resurrection of the dead, or the Last Judgment.
Many people consider this “fanciful‘ thought, and not worth serious consideration. Many people, myself included, feel this is most unfortunate, yet realize the underlying reasoning for sloughing off (to shrug off) entertaining such dark thoughts. This is immensely troubling, for it is the lack of genuine concern and/or consideration that results in an apathy toward individual and communal life. Combine that with the overpopulation of our planet by humans (and its detrimental effects toward sustaining any and all life on this planet), results in an acceleration of our demise as a civilized entity.
“In the shuffling madness of the locomotive breath
Runs the all time loser, head long to his death”
The very same people who refuse to accept the notion that their life is not their own and has been bought and paid for at a cost they cannot even begin to fathom (see 1 Corinthians 6:19-20), are the ones who are blind to the deception being propagated by “the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (see Ephesians 6:12).
AT FACE VALUE, it looks like it is a simple matter of differing human ideologies, but IN ALL TRUTH, it is flat-out spiritual warfare!
You’ve got to know when to hold ’em
Know when to fold ’em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you’re sittin’ at the table
There’ll be time enough for countin’
When the dealin’s done
“The Gambler” — Kenny Rogers
Here’s the deal, many people living in denial as to the One True God of ALL Creation, are counting their cards at-the-table, thinking they are the only one who can judge and decide their fate. They have fooled themselves into believing that they will never be held accountable for how they have lived their life. They live in a fantasy world of their own making. There is nothing I nor anyone else can say, to change their mind. What needs to be changed is their heart, and only God has the ability to perform such a task.
I can say a thousand times in a thousand different ways that those who reject God and His gift of forgiveness via faith in the finished work of His Son, Jesus of Nazareth, will come to a dark and lonely end, and it will make no difference… UNLESS, by the power of God’s Spirit, their spirit is awakened to the truth of God.
And those of us who’s spirit has been awakened to the Truth of the Gospel (Good News), can only strive, through faith in Christ, to live in a manner that reflects the love of God; and we can only do so by the conditional grace and unlimited power of Ha Shem (YHWH).
